Dr. Deb Melendez loves life and strives to appreciate every stage of it. She sees life as a gift but recognizes that it can often take great effort to achieve one’s goals. Over the last 17 years of medical practice, she has worked in a variety of settings mostly taking care of adults and geriatric patients with chronic diseases. After working with many frail and disabled patients who likely could have had a more fruitful life experience, she started focusing more on evidence-based prevention and wellness for herself and her patients. She is excited to share the knowledge and motivate her patients to proactively choose daily healthy habits that will result in robust longevity.

Dr. Melendez is a board-certified family medicine physician. She began her medical career attaining honors in Biology at Wellesley College, before earning her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. She completed her internship at the Conroe Medical Education Foundation program and finished her residency at The Methodist Hospital in Houston in 2007. Dr. Melendez has worked in solo practice, private group practice, and large federally-funded health centers. She is skilled at managing complex patients with acute and chronic problems.

Dr. Sida Yan served on the front lines in Urgent Care during the pandemic, working 12-hour shifts in crisis conditions, all with a baby at home. Her husband built a UV light sanitizing cupboard in their garage for her to use at the end of each shift. Sida carries this same sacrificial commitment as a Medici Primary Care Doctor. Her empathy, love and experience make her a doctor like no other.

Dr. Yan is a board-certified family medicine physician. She attended St. Louis University School of Medicine in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. After medical school, she joined her husband in San Antonio, where he was stationed as an active-duty Air Force officer. Sida completed her family medicine residency at UT Health San Antonio and continues to enjoy practicing evidence-based medicine specifically tailored to each of her patient’s needs.

Dr. Lin is a board-certified internal medicine physician. She began her medical career as a premed student at Washington University in St. Louis, obtaining a B.A. degree in biology with a minor in biophysics. She graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School, Twin Cities before training at Summa Health Systems in Akron, Ohio, in their internal medicine program. She then completed a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas during which she treasured multidisciplinary teamwork, including nursing, psychology, social work, chaplaincy, in caring for the patient as a whole person. Soon after graduating, she realized her passion was primary care and now she loves working with a multidisciplinary team in caring for adult patients (age 18+) across the spectrum of age, disease, and disease complexity. She supports her patients in adopting healthy lifestyle habits to prevent chronic disease and looks forward to caring for you.

Before diving into Cardiology, Dr. Valentine began her career as a successful pharmacist. When her father unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack at 58, she felt called to make a change. She sold her pharmacy and went to medical school, never forgetting her dad’s words that she had the ability, and the heart, to become a doctor. Her personal story led her to craft a safe and loving environment for her patients, knowing that each is screened and cared for with the utmost consideration.

Dr. Valentine's area of specialization is adult cardiology and she has received professional recognition including Texas Super Doctors and is the author of Why Most Women Die - How Women Can Fight Their #1 Killer: Heart Disease. Further, she has received several awards including Senior Award for Excellence in Internal Medicine and Community Named one of Best Doctors in Texas every year since 2002. Dr. Valentine is a frequent media guest and public speaker for prestigious channels such as Newsmax and One America News. She is also a member of esteemed professional societies such as American College of Cardiology, Texas Medical Association and Dallas County Medical Society.

Meet Dr. Thomas, a highly compassionate and well-trained Board-certified psychiatrist who is dedicated to mental health. Dr. Thomas's heart is particularly drawn to the underserved, including the incarcerated and homeless populations. She has contributed to publications and presentations on issues affecting minorities, women, and mental health within religious contexts. Driven by a strong belief in the effectiveness of collaborative care, particularly within primary care settings, Dr. Thomas sees this as a pivotal solution to address mental health challenges in America.

Originally from London, UK, she completed her general psychiatry training and is a proud member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK. Dr. Thomas further honed her expertise through an ACGME accredited psychiatry residency at one of the largest medical centers in the USA, The Texas Medical Center, while training at UT Health, Houston.

Throughout her career, Dr. Thomas has been recognized for her dedication to excellence, earning national awards from the American Psychiatric Association. Her goal is to leverage her varied experiences across two continents to promote mental wellness in all her patients. She brings leadership skills, quality clinical care, and research expertise together in her mission to serve communities in need.
